The PicoJet PJ-M8-256 is an eight (8) printhead module capable
of printing four colors (C,M,Y,K) at 300 dpi. The module contains:
Eight (8) PJ-N256 Printheads; Eight (8) corresponding printhead
driver boards; One (1) contoller board; and control software. The
module “black box” concept is designed to provide four
interface points for the integrator: a SCSI data connection, Four
(4) fluid interfaces, a sensor input and a power supply input. The
remainder of the nozzle mapping electronics are included in the module eliminating
the electronic integration obstacles that inhibit new product introduction.
The PJ-N256 printheads are manufactured using PicoJet’s patented
intermetallic bonding process. This break through bonding technology
allows PicoJet to join each of the printhead laminates together,
including the orifice plate, using a metal welding process. The
resulting bond makes for an amazingly robust, all metal printhead
that eliminates the need for adhesives that can interact with ink
chemistries.
