Corporate Overview
The original concept for PicoJet’s ultrasonic bonding technology
was the brainchild of Hue Le, the former Director of Technology
Development at Tektronix Printing and Imaging Division (Now Xerox
OPB). Hue’s 18 patents and over 20 years of experience in
ink jet printing research and development, led him to build a team
to explore the concept of ultrasonic metal bonding. His hunch paid
off. In 2002 the first pioneering patent in the field was granted
to PicoJet titled “Microfluidic Device and Ultrasonic Bonding.”
A second patent granted in 2003 added the ultrasonic bonding of
ceramic material. The third patent covering laser cutting of piezoceramic
and flex cable interconnection followed in 2004. Additional fabrication
process patents are pending. The combined result is the first long
life and low cost printhead for the industrial printing industry.
